Intermediate Tarot Reading Workshop

This workshop is for those who have taken Beginning Tarot Reading or who have begun studying tarot on their own and want some practice and guidance. Ideally participants already understand the structure of a tarot deck—the difference between the major and minor arcana, and have some basic knowledge regarding the symbolism of the suits and numerological principals of tarot. Basic familiarity with the court cards would be helpful as well. Most importantly, participants will already know how to engage with the imagery of a card to develop an interpretation of it.

We will spend a little time reviewing the above, but most of the session will be spent practicing doing readings for one another. We will also introduce a technique or two.

We will use the Rider-Waite deck for this workshop and will have extras to lend out to those who don’t have one.

Our Philosophy:

Traditionally the Tarot has been used as a fortune telling system. In this workshop, we will not teach you how to use the cards to make predictions but rather we will show you how to use the Tarot to shed light on your choices and to empower you to determine the direction your life will take.

Private Workshops:

If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to gather some friends to host a Tarot workshop in your home, please email Susan (susan@magicians-table.com) for details. Workshops are usually three to four hours long, depending on the topic and include two instructors: Susan Gold and either Carole Pierce or Evelyn Pine. The minimum fee is $45.00 per participant. Day-long workshops are available for a higher fee. For all workshops a minimum of five participants is requested, including the host or hostess whose fee will be waived. We can work with you to tailor the workshop to your specific interests and needs.
